Of the Flat River Community Library

The Friends of the Flat River Community Library is a non-profit organization of individuals who are committed to:

Aid and assist the library through volunteer efforts
Provide financial support through fundraising
Assist in publicity and other library activities
Promote the services and facilities offered by the library
Encourage and promote the expansion, enlargement, and construction of library facilities
And better serve the needs of the residents.

We are a diverse group of people who want to make our library a great resource for the community! The Friends group meets monthly on the first Thursday of each month at 7:00 in the Stafford Community Room at the library. Our meetings usually last just an hour and include updates on our current projects and activities. We'd love to have you join us!

Help us make our library an even better learning center for the dynamic growth of our community!

Did you know that The Friends:

Have a shop in the library called Books 'n' Things where you can purchase gently used books
Sponsor and help with the Children's Summer Reading Program
Have three Used Book Sales each year
Provide the "Booked Series" programs
Sponsor evening speakers at the Library
Publish a newsletter called Footnotes
Deliver "Books for Babies," an informational package, to new mothers at the United Memorial Health Center
Volunteer in the library to assist staff as needed
