Welcome
to the Flat River Community Library's Stanley and Blanche Ashe Foundation
and Charles and Ellen Randall
Foundation
Local History Room! The collection's emphasis is on Greenville and the
surrounding communities of
Montcalm
County. We welcome researchers to browse our resources below. This web site
does not provide access to
the
records themselves because our genealogical records are not in an electronic
format.
ACCESS
Genealogical
materials can be accessed during regular library hours (Mon - Thurs 9:30am
- 8:00pm;
Fri - Sat 9:30am - 5:00pm). Genealogical materials cannot be borrowed.
Patrons are welcome to photocopy
materials found on the shelves. Materials
in the glass cabinets may not be photocopied but are available
for viewing
with the presentation of a valid driver's licence or state i.d.
COLLECTION
The library's online catalog Webpac provides
access to the genealogical collection through title, author, and
subject searches.
The history room collection contains many core reference titles, guides for
beginning research
and genealogy research using the Internet.
EQUIPMENT
The
Flat River Community Library's local history room comes equipped with a microfilm/fiche
reader/scanner attached to
a black & white laser printer. Photocopying fees from the machine are
25¢/page. Also provided in the room
is a personal computer with access
to the Internet and the Family Tree Maker program. Time limits and
other restrictions apply to all equipment when necessary.
RESEARCH AT THE LIBRARY
